MEDIEVAL REAL TIME STRATEGY Medieval RTS Guides
Openings, economy, siege, and ranked - written for live multiplayer matches.
MEDIEVAL REAL TIME STRATEGY is a free-to-play Roblox RTS by Spling (place 10853515606, universe 3918560032). It released on 8 September 2022, was still receiving patches on 27 August 2026, and has on the order of 83 million visits, 275 thousand favorites, and about 82 percent likes, with peak concurrent players around 4962. Matches are online, alliances exist, and servers can hold 200 players. The win rule is blunt: destroy every enemy castle.
This hub is the map of the written guides. It is not a substitute for a live game. Read the page that matches the mistake you just made, then queue again. If you have never finished a mill line, start with the first-hour castle walkthrough. If you keep mis-clicking troops, jump to hotkeys. If you starve while the opponent fields knights, read income. If you field knights and still lose the keep, read how to finish. If walls stop you, read siege. If the road is the problem, read balloon raids. If the map is water, read ports and fishing. If you just hit level 7, read ranked.
First hour and the core loop
Every match starts at your castle with a free King whose aura speeds heal, attack, and build in a radius. Right-click or tap the keep to recruit. Builders cost about $10. Send them to farm tiles, plant Windmills (about $11 per minute when a mill sits on a farm), and do not open a Barracks or Siege Workshop until you have three or more mills. The castle itself adds about $25 per minute, deals light damage, and can be upgraded - players often quote about $130 for level 2.
The 2026 beginner openings are consistent: two builders, sometimes two builders plus three swordsmen; take the backmost farm relative to your first attack path; contest mid farms; if a Watchtower appears, add swordsmen to kill it; then barracks into knights. That sequence is expanded in the first-hour guide and turned into a click-order list on the timed opening planner. Other calculators live on the match tools board.
Controls before fancy comps
Left-click selects, E clears the whole selection, Shift plus left-click peels one unit, Q (the interact control on mobile) loads boats and War Wagons, and players mention F for lining troops. Recruiting from the keep is a right-click or tap on the castle, not a hidden menu. Mobile is supported. The PC and mobile hotkey table is the page to keep open on a second screen if you still fat-finger unselect.
Economy, then army
Mills on farms are the engine. Houses expand how many troops you can keep in the field. Fishing boats need a Port - full dock loop on ports, fishing, and ships. Builder Huts raise the builder cap (about six, with an extra slot from Armory research). Outposts act like mini-castles and are limited. Watchtowers sit around 40 HP and tick slowly. The windmill income breakdown is the long version, including when to stop expanding mills and start paying for Knights, Crossbowers, or splash.
When you forget which building is even worth a tile, cross-check the building power ranking instead of guessing from a random screenshot.
How fights actually end
Units auto-attack once they have a target. That does not mean you dump a blob on a wall and wait. Knights front, Crossbower mass as a cheap answer to Wizard, Wizard splash plus Trebuchet into packed Crossbowers and buildings, Mage plus War Wagon plus Medic as a later package, Catapults into clumps, Ballista as single-target (players talk about fire arrows), balloons over towers, Spearman to dismount cavalry, Robber or thief to steal about 25 percent of an enemy castle’s funds and walk the bag home. The macro and army compositions page is where those packages are compared, with a pointer at the full unit roster cheat sheet when a name slips.
Siege is its own problem. Walls, Towers, Trebuchets, loaded War Wagons, and balloons that skip the tower line are covered in wall-breaking siege notes. If you keep trading mill lines into a walled keep, that is the page, not another barracks.
Ranked, allies, and the rest of the wiki
Ranked unlocks after level 7. Matchmaking buckets are levels 1-5 and 6+. Alliances are real - you can win as a team, and the Teamwork badge is for an alliance win. Read ranked unlock and etiquette before you treat a ranked lobby like a deathmatch against your own color. Role talk and grouping live under king aura and army roles and the alliance callouts page. The broader player systems overview collects those.
Promo codes are redeemed in the Skins panel. Reported working strings have been RTS for 500 coins and 2K for 1000 coins; they may expire, and this wiki does not invent extras. Start at the active coins codes list, then the rest of the community links index if you need the Roblox page or group. Patch notes sit on the live patch notes board and are not duplicated here.
If you came looking for injected executors, that is a different category: the executor scripts hub and nothing in these guides. Play the match first.
What to open after this hub
New to the keep: first-hour walkthrough, then hotkeys, then income. Already mill-capped: how to win, then siege. Tower roads: balloons. Water maps: naval. Level 7 and restless: ranked. Tools and tier pages are reference, not a replacement for the loop. The video on this page is a full how-to-play pass you can watch once, then ignore in favor of the written openings.
Keep the King in the aura radius, keep builders split, and remember the only scoreboard that matters is enemy castles at zero.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for codes, ranked, windmills, and siege fights.
Where should a brand-new Medieval RTS player start?
Play one live multiplayer match after reading the first-hour castle walkthrough. The game is not a single-player campaign.
Do I need every guide before I queue?
No. Open the PC and mobile hotkey table if clicks fail, the windmill income breakdown if you go broke, and siege or how-to-win only after you have three mills.
Is Ranked available from account level 1?
No. Ranked unlocks after level 7. Casual matchmaking already splits levels 1-5 and 6+. Details are on ranked unlock and etiquette.
Where are unit and building rankings if a guide names too many options?
Use the unit power ranking for troops and the building ranking linked from the economy and siege pages when you only need a short list.
Do these guides replace patch notes?
No. After a big drop, skim the live patch notes board and then return to the matching guide. Numbers like mill income can shift even when the loop stays the same.
